The Draft West Mojave Route Network Project (WMRNP) and Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) describe and analyze alternatives for the planning and management of a transportation and travel network and livestock grazing on public lands and resources within the West Mojave Planning Area, administered by the BLM, California Desert.

Dear Mr. Toedtli and the West Mojave Route Network Project team, Thank you very much for the opportunity to provide comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) for the West Mojave Route Network Project (WMRNP).

The West Mojave Planning Area (WEMO) covers more than 9 million acres of land in California’s Mojave Desert. The BLM initially published a Notice of Availability for the DSEIS for the West Mojave Route Network Project in Marchwhich was made available for public comment.

Concurrently, the BLM was considering amending the CDCA Plan through the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan Start Printed Page (DRECP). The DRECP is a landscape. The West Mojave Route Network Project (WMRNP) will adopt transportation and travel strategy and designate routes on public lands in the WEMO Planning Area.

The WEMO Planning Area covers million acres of the CDCA in the western portion of the Mojave Desert in southern California, including parts of San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Kern, and Inyo. Inseveral environmental groups protested an additional route network expansion designated under the West Mojave Desert (WEMO) plan.

InU.S. District Judge Susan Illston ruled against the BLM's proposed designation of additional off-road vehicle use allowance in the western Mojave Desert.
